While artificial intelligence has made information instantly accessible, qualities such as wisdom, empathy, resilience, judgment and perspective are cultivated through meaningful human connections. Through Living Library, we help children engage with retired teachers, Armed Forces veterans, scientists, artists and other accomplished individuals. We hope to provide opportunities to the children to learn not just from textbooks but from lives rich with experience.
Every life has something worth sharing.
At The Living Library, we believe wisdom isn’t defined by titles, achievements or recognition. It is shaped by experiences, reflection and the generosity to pass those experiences on.
Our Living Books come from diverse walks of life, yet they share one common belief—that every conversation has the power to leave someone a little wiser, a little kinder, or a little more hopeful.
The spirit of every Living Book is reflected in our L.I.F.E. Philosophy.
Lessons
Every journey carries lessons. Through moments of success, failure, joy, uncertainty and perseverance, life quietly teaches us what no textbook can.
A Living Book shares these lessons with honesty and humility.
Impact
Impact isn’t measured by awards or accolades. It is reflected in the people we’ve encouraged, the values we’ve lived by, and the difference we’ve made—often in ways we may never fully realise.
Every life has the potential to leave an imprint.
Reflection
Experience becomes wisdom only when we pause to reflect on it.
Our Living Books don’t simply share what happened—they share how those experiences shaped their thinking, their choices and the person they became.
Engagement
The most meaningful learning begins with curiosity.
Our Living Books create conversations where children feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas and discovering perspectives that stay with them long after the conversation ends.
